Susan combines her extensive clinical experience with a passion for evidence-based care. Susan Cates, M.Ed., CCC-SLP has been a licensed and certified speech language pathologist since 2016, graduating from the University of Georgia, Athens. She is credentialed in a number of vocal health management strategies, including LSVT® LOUD, PhORTE®, and manual therapy for voice and swallowing concerns with Walt Fritz, DPT. Susan also has a graduate certificate in Vocology conferred by Lamar University in 2022, combining elements of vocal pedagogy and vocal therapy for holistic voice management. 

Susan is also a prolific vocal performer, appearing professionally as a background and lead singer, bass player, and flute/tin whistle player with multiple bands, most recently Sgian Dubh (https://www.sgiandubhband.com/), in the Atlanta area from 2003 – 2013 on the Celtic music circuit. She has appeared as an ensemble and featured member of local amateur theater productions in Georgia (Athens Creative Theatre, New London Theatre), Alaska (Pier One Theatre), and Washington (Tacoma Little Theatre, Olympic Theatre Arts, Port Angeles Community Playhouse, and PA Panto). Susan has received vocal training with Isaac Holmes at the University of Georgia.
